Starrdogs Bullmastiffs

Welcome to Starrdogs Bullmastiffs, established in 1991 with the gift of my first
Bullmastiff, Bellestarr. Named after the notorious outlaw woman BELLE STARR,
Belle came from the record litter of 19. She was the last to go to a home, as she
arrived to me in my arms on a motorcycle. What a wonderful pet she was, living until
she was 13. I bred her at age two and then the fun began. I had my first show dog...
Blaze Starr. After being beat and pounded as the novice that I was, I owner breeder
handled my first champion. Then feeling proud, I showed her mom Belle Starr and
finished her. From there I was hooked! I went from a corvette to a dog van. Through
the years I have bred over 26 champions, all breeder handled. I have also bred 51
champions and I won the 2004, 2005, and 2009 Pedigree Award for top breeder in
Bullmastiffs. The American Bullmastiff Assc. also awarded me top producer in 2004
and most champions bred that year from CH Starrdogs Honkytonk Girl,ROM. I now
have started the endeavor of being an AKC judge to help educate and preserve our
breed standard. I try to breed for breed type and soundness. I personally like the
old style bullmastiffs of the late 80's and 90's. I enjoy the process of selecting a stud
dog and raising puppies, meeting new proud owners and trying to educate them
about our wonderful breed. I think its very important to remember what its like to be
new. I hope with each puppy I place, the owners get the same happiness and
excitement that I still have.
